A few things to keep in mind are:
  • Make sure your content is searchable. Search engines process text, so things like Keywords, Title tags and Page links will increase your chances of Google understanding what you are trying to highlight. Keywords are the words you want to be associated with and the main tool you will have to tailor your content to specific searches. Repeating the keyword, between 2%-3% of the page content, will increase your chances of being seen.
  • Links are an endorsement and link building will increase your trust and reputation thus raising your rank and lessening the need for marketing spend. Get your site listed in local directories, trend in social sharing sites and ultimately build links to high quality sites such as magazines and blogs. This way, your consumers will discover your content on their own.
  • Ensure you and your potential customers are speaking the same language by producing relevant content for them. Choose a keyword that is relevant to your product, research traffic and competition to help develop variations of your keyword and help identify the ones that strike a balance between competition and volume. Then you can develop targeted content for those keywords.
